Pinterest Obsessed!

 

Every day we are looking for new inspirations for our weddings, birthdays, dinner parties, events, home, fashion, workouts, meals, and everything we need a little inspiration from. I have found my new obsession… Pinterest. With Pinterest you can organize and share all the things you love on your personal boards. You can follow other people and have people follow you and share the things that inspire you. Most of the pictures are linked back to websites, where you can find the inspiration and get more information on it.

They have a board for everything, but my favorite is Weddings & Events. You can search the boards for different ideas, color schemes, centerpieces, floral designs, dresses, hair styles… anything you can think of.  Its a great source for your planning. Plus you can upload pictures that you love and share it with those that are following you. Once you pin a picture on one of your boards, then others can re-pin your picture and share it with their followers. Its a very simple concept.

Now in order to do this, you need an invitation from someone that is already on Pinterest. If you would like to join this amazing online and app world, send us a comment with your email address, and we will send you the invite to get you started.

Alexandra & Chris’ Biltmore Wedding

If there is one thing I learned during Alexandra & Chris’ wedding is that love was part of every detail. We had such a fabulous weekend! All of their family and friends came to Miami for a destination wedding.The guests checked in to the historical Biltmore Hotel for a weekend to remember.

The weekend kicked off with an intimate rehearsal dinner inspired by the couple’s choice of honeymoon…Italy! Once the dinner and speeches were over, the doors were opened for the guests to join the families for cocktails, hors d’Oeuvres, and dancing. The party definitely started!

On Saturday morning, I could not believe that the day had finally arrived. Alexandra and I had been back and forth for months with the details of the wedding, and I couldn’t believe her BIG DAY was here!

Shuttles transported the guests to a sweet and romantic afternoon ceremony at the Church of the Little Flower. Mr. & Mrs. Chris Crissy were announced husband and wife and we were off to the Biltmore Hotel to celebrate.

The reception took place in the glamours Country Club Ballroom. Alexandra’s mom, Charlottle, and her aunt customized every detail of the wedding. They customized the menu cards, the place cards, the favor boxes…every little detail was done with so much love.

Perrish Design centerpieces plus a combination of Nuage Design linens created the perfect combination that were simply stunning for the ballroom.

It helped that we had plenty of candles in the ballroom, especially since the power went out a couple of times in the City of Coral Gables that night. But that didn’t stop the party, the VoxBlu band kept the music going and the dance floor was jam-packed!

One of my favorite parts of the night was the toast given by Gabrielle, Alexandra’s MOH and little sister. I will never forget the advice that she reminded her sister that their grandmother always says… “may the ups and downs of your marriage only be in the bedroom!” With a ballroom filled with laughter, followed by four different cake flavors made by the talented girls at Todo Dulce, it made for a perfect evening!

 

We want to thank all the amazing vendors that helped make this wedding simply perfect! Miami Beach International Bridal Week

It’s that time of year again, the Miami Beach International Bridal Week is just weeks away. This year it is taking place at the iconic Eden Roc Renaissance Miami Beach on November 26-27, 2011. Sobol-Perry Fashion Productions, Inc. will be introducing the Miami Beach International Bridal Week as an extension of the Miami Beach International Fashion week this year. With over 100 exhibitors that will be showing the latest linen and decor ideas, cakes and pastries, floral, entertainment and so much more. The most exciting part of the bridal show will be the couture fashion show with the latest trend in bridal and evening wear. Plus they will have a lingerie bridal fashion show.

They will also be having educational seminars for couples. Experts in the wedding industry will have interactive seminars to discuss planning and budgeting for your wedding, financial planning, purchasing a home, insurance needs, styling for the bridal party, and all the other areas that we can all use some help in during the engagment period. Just so that you don’t get bored, each day they will end with an interactive dancing class for you and your groom to practice your dance moves for the big day.

Its definitely a great event to help you in planning process, as well as to meet some of the wedding industry top leaders.

 

Bride Wars

At the beginning of the month, we kicked off a Facebook contest giving one of our fans our month of coordination service package. Today is the last bonus point round for our brides to earn some extra votes. We have asked them to have their family & friends leave us a comment on this blog post. We want to know what couple they have voted for & why should they win. Each comment received will give the bride an additional vote.

Videographer: Should I have one?

I was recently asked by one of my brides if its important to have a videographer at the wedding. My answer to her was that I watch my video more than I have ever looked at my pictures. There is something amazing to relive the moments of your event. To see my family and friends enjoying every second of what took me 7 months to plan was priceless. Pictures are great and they last forever, but a video takes you back to the moment.

When can I wear them again?

What do you do with the shoes that took you so much time to find? The shoes that you wore on the BIG day. Mine are in the top shelf of my closet, in the box they arrived in, collecting dust.

Recently, during a shoe shopping spree with one of my brides, she tried on a gorgeous pair of Badgley Mischka. It was to no surprise, that after days of searching, these were the ones. The best part of these shoes is that they are dye-able! She will be able to dye them in any color that she wants after her wedding, and use the shoes as she pleases. Why didn’t I think of that when I was shopping for my shoes?

Although the shoes can be a bit costly for a budget conscious bride, they are worth the investment, and you are guaranteed that the shoes won’t stay on the top shelf of your closet, collecting dust. I’m pretty sure that there are other designer shoes that you may have your eye that can also be dyed. Don’t forget to ask that question when you are shoe shopping.

Month of Coordination Service Giveaway

The most hectic time during planning an event is the month of the event, then followed by the week of, and then of course you have the stress of the day of. It’s time to help out our local Facebook fans by hosting a contest for them. The winner of our contest will win our Month of Coordination Services. The services included attending final vendor meetings, customizing a detailed timeline, organization of ceremony rehearsal & the ceremony, and much more.

We are asking fans to send us an email at info@eventsbyfrancesca.com with their names, the date of their event, the budget for the event, the reason why they need a planner, and a picture. We will send you the contest details and the details of what they will win. Then we will post it on our Facebook fan page to have their family and friends vote for them.

Now the contest is not limited to just brides, we want to help all of our fans that are planning any event. So if you are having a baby shower, a birthday party, an anniversary party, a quiñce or sweet sixteen, a wedding or a company party then this is just what you need…a planner to help relieve the stress!
